EXHIBITS

The society has a number of rooms devoted to the display of local artifacts and the works of local artists.  Exhibits range from trade memorabilia to period clothing.

 
Local Artists

There are several artists whose work in painting, photography and music has recorded life in this western maine town. Basest known as Vivian akers, whose portraits and nature paintings command a good price on the auction circuit, has a number of works on display at the Society. 

Manufacturing

Shoes and woods products were for many years the major industries in the Norway-south Paris area. Snowshoes were the Moses' distinctive unique product Norway was at one time the "Snowshoe Capitol' of the world.

Memorabilia

The history of Norway architecture and old town scenes were preserved in quaint vignettes used to decorate a variety of china sold at local gift shops over the years.

Minerals

Southwestern Maine is a source of gem quality minerals. Specimens are on display. The George R. How collection contains literature on the subject.
